America Run by Liberals: Hope, Education, and Healthcare

Given my background in a liberal country like the Netherlands, I firmly believe that if America were run by liberals, it would thrive in the long term. Liberal policies focus on accessible healthcare and quality education, which are crucial for a stable and prosperous society.

Accessible Healthcare and Quality Education

Liberal leaders prioritize accessible and affordable healthcare. This means that everyone would have the opportunity to receive the medical care they need, without financial barriers. When individuals can prioritize their well-being, they can perform their jobs to the best of their abilities, leading to better productivity and overall happiness. By ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare, the society as a whole benefits from reduced health issues and improved public health.

Quality education is another key aspect. Providing the best education within everyone's reach is crucial for the future. Many talented individuals are left underutilized due to the circumstances of their birth. By offering adequate education to all, we elevate the entire country's standards and create a more educated and knowledgeable workforce. This not only benefits individual lives but also contributes to the economic and cultural growth of the nation.

Challenges and Hope for Change

However, the implementation of these changes is unlikely to be widely accepted by Americans. Most have been influenced to believe that such measures have negative consequences, and many are unwilling to accept higher taxes despite the substantial benefits. This resistance poses a significant challenge to the implementation of liberal policies.

Yet, there is some hope. Considering the significant support received by Bernie Sanders, a notably liberal candidate from the younger generation, we can remain optimistic that positive changes will eventually come. It is crucial to avoid regression, as illustrated by the potential damage caused by leaders like Donald Trump. We must continue to push for progress and ensure that the political process remains dedicated to the betterment of all people.

The Past and Present of Liberal Governance

Reflecting on the past, a country led by liberals resembles the United States from the late 1930s to the 1980s, during another era of liberal governance. During this period, key policies such as trickle-down economics and tax rate reductions for the wealthy led to a concentration of wealth and government corruption. However, a liberal-led government today prioritizes the middle class, focusing on policies to increase wages and purchasing power. They also advocate for international cooperation and diplomacy, using military force only as a last resort.

Multinational liberal governments like the Netherlands and others emphasized the protection of civil rights for all individuals, understanding that progress in this area is a continuous effort. Liberals prioritize people over profits and champion hope over fear, fostering a persistent commitment to the political process and the well-being of the nation.
