Yes, you can indeed consume a variety of mushrooms in your cooking every day. I grow different kinds of mushrooms year-round and often incorporate them into my meals. I can even consume large quantities of mushrooms during flushes, which are periods of rapid growth, guilt-free, as long as I keep certain indulgences in check.

Recent unseasonably hot weather has made me glad that it’s finally cooling down. Listening to the first measurable rainfall, I feel a sense of anticipation for the mushrooms that will grow as a result. These “volunteers” are a wonderful surprise, especially now that I'm almost out of dried mushrooms. I'm not currently growing indoors, but I still have plans for a dedicated room, pending the completion of other projects and end-of-year harvests.
