Living Proof: My Journey from Oral Cancer to Recovery
I wanted to share my story, as these twelve photos can save someone's life. The photos represent my journey from 2018 to now, and are a stark reminder of the consequences of poor habits. Let me walk you through my experiences and the journey that has led me to share this with the world.
The Impact of Oral Cancer
In 2019, I was diagnosed with oral cancer, and again in 2020. The reasons behind these conditions are well understood. My message is to all my brothers who chew paan tobacco, gutka, or khaini — you can see your future reflected in these photos. Take a close look and consider quitting these harmful habits.
Tales of a Ganesh Puja and Tragic Loss
Yesterday was Ganesh Puja, when I received blessings and food from many places, yet I couldn't eat. This is because I don't have a tongue. As it stands, every organ in the human body can be replaced, except for the tongue. Please take this into consideration and reconsider your habits.
My Transformation
Throughout my journey, my body has undergone significant changes. Being an endomorph, my body changes easily. When I work out, I maintain a fit and muscular build, but if I don't, I gain weight and become obese. My previous profession required me to maintain decent muscle mass, but the lockdown period caused me to become fat by not doing anything and just sitting and eating.
Now: A New Chapter
After the pandemic, I resumed regular workouts and a healthier diet. My body is gradually improving, and the work to reclaim my health is ongoing.
Personal Growth
Just as my body has transformed, my personal life has also changed. In 2017, life was vastly different. Now, my boyfriend’s calls no longer mean loneliness; rather, they bring moments of happiness and a renewed sense of self.
