Maintaining Cleanliness: A Guide for Modern Living

Is Your Room Clean or Dirty?

In an ideal world, after putting everything in its place, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing, along with a freshly made bed, the air should be fresh. However, in today's world, where cleanliness is more important than ever, especially with the spread of infectious diseases, maintaining a clean room has taken on a new level of significance.

Keeping Your Airbnb Safe and Sanitary

As an Airbnb host, ensuring that your rooms are not only clean but also safe and sanitary is crucial. If everything is laundered or scrubbed with soap and water, and there is no visible dirt or grease, the next step is to address the smell. A clean room should have a pleasant, fresh scent, not one that has a strong and unpleasant odor.

But don't overdo it; a deep breath shouldn't bring tears to your eyes. A pleasant, invigorating scent is the goal, so make sure that the cleaning process is both thorough and gentle. After cleaning, sanitization is the final step to ensure that no viruses remain in your space.

Why Are We Asking This Question?

One might wonder why such scrutiny is needed. Is your own room a mess, and do you need approval to live with a messy room? Or do you have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) which makes cleanliness a priority? Knowledge of these factors can help in better understanding and addressing individual cleaning needs.

Personal Insights on Room Maintenance

From personal experience, I have several rooms that I keep spotlessly clean. In addition to this, I have a weekly maid service to help me maintain a high standard of cleanliness. However, there is one exception – my Art Studio. This room is intentionally kept a bit more chaotic, filled with my artistic creations and materials. A well-designed space, regardless of the room's function, is something I strive for.

Jordan Peterson Level Clean

For some individuals, maintaining a spotless, Jordan Peterson-level clean environment is not just about aesthetics or the provision of a comfortable space; it is a lifestyle. The pursuit of cleanliness can be a significant and even therapeutic endeavor for those with OCD or for anyone who values order and precision in their daily lives.

It's important to recognize that while cleanliness is vital, it's equally important to strike a balance. A too-perfect space can sometimes lead to feelings of anxiety or even depression. Therefore, it's crucial to understand and prioritize both the need for cleanliness and the need for personal well-being and comfort.
