My Long Vacation: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Memorable Moments
During my last vacation, I embarked on a journey that was not only about relaxation but also a period of profound self-discovery. The four to five weeks I spent traversed different aspects of life, from professional visits to thrilling adventures and moments of introspection.
Professional and Personal Visits
My vacation began with a trip to Nasarawa State, where my father works in Lafe. One of the highlights of my visit was a meeting with the Minister of Environment for Nasarawa State. This meeting provided me with valuable insights into the environmental policies and challenges in the region. Afterward, we returned to Abuja, where we enjoyed a short shopping spree at Sunitem Supermarket. After a day of business and shopping, my brother and I bought new technology, a new phone for me and an Apple laptop for him, from Duste Market, enhancing our tech needs.
Emotional and Physical Well-being
The following Sunday, we visited the senior pastor of our church, where he prayed for my dad. This visit was a source of comfort and spiritual encouragement. Following the service, we spent some time at Evenlyn Park in Gwarinpa, where I swam and exercised to maintain an active lifestyle. We enjoyed some snacks after swimming and headed home for a relaxing meal.
Family and Culinary Delights
One of the most memorable days of the vacation was when we went to ShopRite to buy supplies and junk food like pizza, burgers, and shawarma. It was a day filled with fun and delicious treats. The following day, my dad took us to the cinema, where we watched a movie called Supa Cells. Afterward, we visited his friend's place, where he introduced me to playing video games on PS, a device I was eager to have. My mom later took us to her office, where we met some important figures and discovered that the following day would be my birthday. What a surprise to be greeted with a brand new PlayStation 4! This birthday turned out to be the best of my life.
Reflections and Future Plans
While my vacation was filled with many activities, it was also a time for introspection. I didn't encounter any magical trees like Tom, instead, I spent my free time scrolling through TikTok and FaceTiming with friends, practicing the flute, and enjoying the simple pleasures of family and new experiences. Reflecting on this vacation, I realized that the best vacations are those that blend adventure, relaxation, and personal growth.
Going forward, I wish to incorporate more meaningful experiences into my life. Perhaps, one day, I will turn my extended vacation into a lifelong journey of self-discovery and continue to treasure the moments that make up each day.
