Wearing Clothes Inside Out: A Relatable Experience for Everyone
Have you ever found yourself wearing a piece of clothing inside out in public?
Aliens Among Us
Believe it or not, you're not alone. The day I found out my leggings were inside out is a story I'm now taking the liberty to share with the world. I was watching emails on my MacBook, feeling the seam on my leg through my hand… OH NO, WAY TOO LATE!!! This common human error is something you might have experienced too at some point in time, and you wouldn't have been the only one.
Everyday Mishaps in Hanoi
Living in Hanoi, Vietnam, I often find myself catching these embarrassing moments. One such day, while working in Hanoi, I remembered that I needed to pick up my kid from school. I grabbed a top and a kameez and walked on the road. After almost 10 minutes, as I passed two lanes, I realized my bottom wear was inside out. I thought nothing of it, considering it was a minor mistake, and waited at the school gate until my child came out. We went to the washroom, and I managed to change to the right way.
The Mysterious Laughter on the Bus
One morning, I woke up before 6 am to go to work in Hanoi. It's a common practice for Vietnamese to start working earlier, often around 7-8 am. That day, I put on a black solid t-shirt with a plaid dress and confidently boarded the bus. Some high school boys behind me started laughing, and I didn't know why at first. Around 30 minutes later, a young girl poked me and said, "Oh my God!!!" I literally did not dare to look at my shirt at first, fearing what might be the issue. But then I couldn't stop laughing. I thanked her and sat still on the bus, finding an office bathroom and turning my clothes right side out. From that day on, I always check my clothes thoroughly before heading to work.
Unexpected Discoveries in the Restroom
While having a drink after work, I decided to check my clothes carefully. It all started with noticing the inside tag; then I noticed the seams sticking up. At first, I thought it was just a raw seam issue, but when I turned the shirt right side out, I had another drink while laughing to myself. No one seemed to notice or care, which was a relief.
Everyone can relate to these moments, so if you ever stare at your reflection and wonder, 'Is that the way I was supposed to wear this?' you're not the only one. Remember, it's all about the journey and the humor in the mishaps, not the end result.
