Many people might think that it's the things they miss the most from their time at NIT Rourkela that stand out the most. However, for me, it's the things we do not miss that truly hold a special place in our hearts. NIT Rourkela isn't just a place of academic studies—it's a tapestry of memories and experiences that shape who we are. Here are some of the things we do not miss after passing out from NIT Rourkela:

From the Naga Pond filled with vibrant flora to the LA lawns where students often gather for a peaceful break, the green surroundings are a constant reminder of the care and effort put into the campus environment.
The Hostel Atmosphere
The hostel experience is invaluable during our time at NIT Rourkela. The hostel in which I stayed for the last four years holds a special place in my heart. The camaraderie, coming together to watch cricket matches, celebrating birthdays, and enjoying treats like StatusChain and Dine Out sessions are memories that will last a lifetime. The assistant (or DC) and Social Life Room (or SLR) were not just places to stay; they were extensions of our community and our social lives.
Food and Treats
Food at NIT Rourkela doesn't just sustain us; it becomes a part of our cultural heritage. From the canteen in Hall 7 where the Aloo Parathas were a daily delight to the tea-stall next to the library, the food represents more than just sustenance—it's a way of life. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy dishes like samosas, Hex Rolls, and all the mango, litchi, tamarind, and jamun plucked from the trees. Every meal was an adventure, and the memories of those meals are just as sweet as the food itself.
The LA Garden and More
The LA Garden is not just a space for relaxation. It's a place where we often found solace and peace. Watching cricket matches together in the TV Room (or TVR), attending placement parties, club parties, and farewell events are highlights that we will always cherish. The long walks after dinner were a time for reflection and bonding with friends, creating a sense of belonging that is hard to replicate elsewhere.
But the most significant aspect of NIT Rourkela is the amazing people with whom we spent the best five years of our lives. Without them, this list would be incomplete. These people are the true essence of our time at NIT Rourkela, and their memories will stay with us for a lifetime.
